Three wood walking sticks

KIERIES
Turned Wood

Symbols of strength, perseverance and unity,
Knopkieries (knob walking sticks) on South Africa’s
coat of arms were traditionally used as weapons
and also during spiritual ceremonies of
Southern African tribes.

POPPIES
Turned Wood

Three wooden totem-like shapes made of cherry
and padauk wood have been turned into different forms.
The shapes evoke the South African Ndebele dolls that
traditionally represent themes of maternity and marriage,
and evoke affection and endearment.
